Typically we suggest the temperature be at least 39-41 degrees or 4 to 5 degrees above freezing and rising with no rain in the forecast for 45 minutes.
Typically, shingle rejuvenation costs 15% of the cost of replacement. The average cost of roof replacement in 2020 was $10,000 compared to only $1,500 to rejuvenate. The cost is based on the square footage of your roof, and we will discuss this in your free roof estimate!
Yes, the color of the shingles will darken, similar to what it was like when new. Initially the change in color can be seen immediately after the rejuvenation application is completed, but this “darkening” will dissipate somewhat over the course of a few days and become lighter as the oil makes its way into the lower layers of the shingles. Within a couple of years, the shingles will start to lighten up as the surface oils begin to oxidize off and the Rejuvenator solution can be applied again for more years of saturated, functional shingles.
We suggest cleaning the roof of any large algae, moss, or debris first, then rejuvenating your shingles with our oil-based product. Any moss or algae left will be smothered and killed. Check out the before and after pictures in the gallery.
Our product is made with 90% bio-based natural food-grade oils. When applied by our trained techs, the rejuvenator solution is safe and poses no threat to people, animals, or plants.
Our five-year prorated warranty covers the fact that our rejuvenation service will extend the life of the shingle five years past the expected life of the shingle in the environment they are in. Some owners want to stop the aging process on older shingles. Depending on how old they are, we may not be able to warranty a shingle that is starting to show signs of extreme aging such as shingles that are starting to curl up. We can discuss the details further based on your unique roof inspection so that you have a clear understanding of the warranty and what to expect. The warranty is transferable to the next homeowner.
Typically shingles that are ten years old start to show signs of aging, granular loss and could use rejuvenation before they start to curl up and become brittle. If you are concerned with the condition of your shingles and are hoping to prolong the period of time between now and when you’ll need to replace your roof, let us help!
Our Products Have Been Thoroughly Tested
PRI Asphalt Technologies Inc, one of the largest shingle and asphalt testing labs in the world, tested Roof Rescue’s bio-based product and concluded that treated shingles had 86% better granular adhesion and 60% better fire retardancy on treated shingles versus untreated. The Roof Rescue treatment also waterproofs the surface, suffocates moss, increases shingle flexibility, helps to keep granular in place, making the shingles last longer, keeping them on your roof where they belong.
